This was my introduction to latch hooking, I'd never even heard of it before, and now I desperately want to do more of it! I had a really great time with this kit.
For someone who tends to enjoy crafting but also find it quite stressful, I was surprised by just how meditative this felt. I remember it being described as such but thought it wouldn't apply to me: I was wrong.
The mesh being coloured so you don't need to stare at the paper pattern is incredibly helpful and really helps you get lost in the flow of it.
Because of the length of yarn the finished product feels really thick, its very soft to stand on and you can really dig your fingers/toes into it.
I also really appreciate the quantity of extra yarn left over which means that if your hook got caught on some fibres and a piece unravelled a bit, it's fine! You can just do it again! I also think this will be helpful for maintaining the rug over a long time. Any bits that could end up getting worn or damaged by life can likely be easily repaired.
I'm really happy with the pattern itself as well as the shades of yarn selected.
Finally I thought the packaging was very good. It was pretty and practical. I was easily able to fold up my rug and close the box when it was done with it for the day. The design of the cover and instructions was also great. The bundles of yarn are also excellent, my only hope for the future is that maybe the wrapping on them would be a form of paper instead of plastic, thoughI realise this is likely an external supplier who provides these and not Craft Club themselves
All in all and excellent kit and I'm very excited to do more!
