What is diamond painting?
Diamond painting is just like paint-by-numbers! Placing little gems (called 'drills') with a wax-based applicator pen onto a designed surface that has been covered in an adhesive.
I'm not crafty. Can I still do this?
If you consider yourself not to be crafty, think of diamond painting as your gateway. Explore creativity and create an artistic piece by methodically sticking gems exactly where they're outlined to be. You might even discover that you might be crafty after all.
What are common diamond painting mistakes?
Common diamond painting mistakes include taking the entire plastic film off, not labelling or organising your gems, and using too much wax. These mistakes are avoided by doing your kit one smaller section at a time, taking the time before you start to organise your gems, and to gently fill your wax applicator.
Is diamond painting difficult?
Diamond painting isn't difficult at all! It requires no official artistic skill, and with patience, you can create something you can be proud of — whether that's a standing mirror frame or a wall hanging.
My mirror arrived broken. What do I do?
If your mirror arrived broken in the packing, let us know!! Reach out to our customer support team, and we'll send you a replacement and keep track so that we can adjust packing or shipping to protect the fragile aspects of the kit.
What if I run out of gems?
Our kits are designed to include more gems than you need. In saying that, if you run out of gems, please reach out to customer support. We'll look into this and see if there are any issues on the back end, and send some replacements so that you can complete your project.
What are AB gems?
AB stands for Aurora Borialis, and these gems are coated in an iridescent finish that gives off a shiny, multicoloured appearance. Some gems may be shinier than others, so make sure to look through them and avoid any dull gems.
What are fairy dust gems?
Fairy dust gems are embedded with pearlescent glitter, giving the drills a subtle but shiny look. They add a bit of whimsy to your piece, and because the shine is embedded, their colouring is consistent.
Are square or round drills better for diamond painting?
Square and round drills serve different purposes in diamond painting. Square drills work best for pixelated designs and for sitting closely together. Round drills are more typically used on illustrated designs, highlighting the shapes and details rather than covering them up completely.
