Yes, your latch hook project can be washed! We recommend machine washing on a gentle cycle in a laundry bag. If you have a cushion, make sure to take the insert out first!
What happens if I lose my latch hook?
If your latch hook tool has broken or been lost, you'll be able to buy a replacement in most craft stores. If that's not an option, you can also use a crochet hook or your fingers to pull the loop of yarn through the canvas to tie it.
Do I need to trim my latch hook?
You don't need to trim your latch hook project; however, it could be helpful to trim any stray pieces to define the design. If you do want to trim your piece, less is more - you can't undo what's been trimmed!
Why is it called 'moss craft' if there's no real moss?
Moss craft is named after the mossy look of the project. We use various types of yarn and stitching techniques to achieve a natural looking creation, without the hard work of keeping real moss alive!
Is embroidery easy for beginners?
Yes, embroidery is easy for beginners! There are a number of base stitches that are simple to learn to get you started. The beauty of embroidery is that there is a range of different stitches, so as you grow more confident, you can experiment with more complex stitches.
What is cross stitch?
Cross stitch is a form of counted-thread embroidery in which X-shaped stitches (called cross stitches) in a grid, pixel-like pattern are used to form a handcrafted piece of art.
What is moss craft?
Moss craft combines various types of yarn and multiple kinds of stitches to create a mossy-looking creation. While it doesn't contain any real moss, you'll have a little patch of nature that stays forever green!
What are the small scissors used for?
Small scissors are used best in Embroidery, Cross Stitch and Half Stitch kits. The sharp point is ideal for the delicate nature of the thread used in these kits.
What are the medium scissors used for?
Medium scissors are used for thicker yarn weights, like chenille and popcorn yarn. The thicker blade is ideal to use in kits like our moss and crochet kits.
What are the large scissors used for?
Large scissors are mostly used to cut paper and cardboard, or other materials that are tougher than yarn. The long and thick blades maximise the area to cut, and can make some process a lot faster than if you only had small scissors!
