Screenshots, photos of screens and heavily compressed downloads lose the detail we need.
Don't go for busy group shots
Five people at a wedding or a very detailed pattern turns to mush at this scale. One clear subject wins every time.

Words generally won't survive the grid. If text is essential, go big, bold and short.
Don't stack heavy filters

What actually is a custom kit?

It's one of our latch hook kits, except the design is yours. You upload an image, our app turns it into a hookable pattern using our yarn colours, and we make that exact kit from scratch — your pattern printed, your yarn cut and counted, packed by hand. Nobody else in the world gets one!

Can I really use any photo?

Almost any. It just needs to be an image you own or have permission to use — your photos, your art, your dog. We can't make kits from copyrighted characters, brand logos that aren't yours, or photos of famous people. Everything else is fair game, and we'd love to see what you come up with!

I've never latch hooked before. Am I in over my head?

Not even slightly. Latch hook is one of the easiest crafts there is — it's one simple motion, repeated, until a picture appears. The mesh is chunky, the pattern tells you exactly where every colour goes, and the instructions are written for people who've never touched a hook!

How do I know it'll look good before I order?

The preview on this page isn't an artist's impression — it's your actual pattern, in the actual yarn colours we'll send you! What you see is what you'll make. Play with the sliders until it feels right!

What if my design won't work?

Then we'll let you know quickly! Every design gets checked by a real person on our team before anything is made — we're looking for things that won't hook up beautifully at this size. If yours is one of them, you'll hear from us within 24 hours with the reason, and we'll either help you tweak it or refund you in full. We'd much rather have that chat than send you something you're disappointed by!

Will the colours match my photo exactly?

We work with a fixed palette of 49 beautiful yarn colours, and your image gets matched to the closest ones. Think of it less like a print and more like a painting: same soul, softer edges, a bit more handmade. And because the preview shows you the real colours, there are no surprises waiting in the box!

How long until it lands on my doorstep?

Around 4–6 weeks from the day you order. Your design gets reviewed within 24 hours, then it's made from scratch just for you before it ships!

Why does it take longer than your other kits?

Because it doesn't exist yet! There's no shelf it's sitting on — your pattern has to be printed, your yarn cut and counted, your kit packed by hand. That's the trade-off for something genuinely one-of-on!

I've changed my mind about my design. Can I swap it?

Get in touch straight away and we'll do everything we can. Once your design is approved and production starts we can't change it — at that point your yarn is already being cut.

Can I order more than one?

Please do. Each design gets its own review, its own kit and its own tracking — so you can make one for you and one for the friend who's going to be very jealous otherwise!

Is this a good gift?

It's a ridiculously good gift. You're giving someone a picture that matters to them, plus the hours of switched-off, phone-down time it takes to make it, plus a finished piece they'll keep for years. Just remember the 4–6 week lead time and don't leave it until the week before!
