Land, Air, Sea - Supplies Bundle Guide
If you're reading this - thank you! We appreciate you supporting our small business by ordering our Land, Air, Sea Supplies Bundle.
This is a BUMPER of a bundle, with over 26 individual pieces - including textured and stretchy yarns, premium tools, canvas and backing. Everything you could need to make your own latch hook or woven creations!
How This Guide Works
Below you'll find information on each type of yarn inside your kit, as well as tutorials and recommendations on how to craft with them. Next, you'll find information on the tools and base materials inside your kit, and how to make the most of them. Scroll further down and you'll find resources for making your own patterns and templates.
Your Yarn
This supplies bundle includes 3x types of crafters yarn - feather, chenille and t-shirt yarn. Each one has unique properties that make them perfect for a range of crafting. We've also recommended extra types of yarn that will compliment your kit materials, particularly if you're wanting to make your own moss-inspired weaving or latch hooking creations.

Feather Yarn
Named after its feathery soft feel, this yarn is perfect for creating texture on any yarn project. If you're making your own moss coaster or rug, it works as a beautiful base for any 'grassy' flat areas, allowing you to create interest without adding hight or dimension.
Use the Satin Stitch method below to add this stitch into your work.
You can also use feather yarn in other yarn crafts, such as crochet, knitting, or loom weaving. For knitting or crochet, its a mid-weight yarn that can be used in a similar way to mohair - although only one strand is needed though to create soft texture. Use a medium sized hook or needle (5-7mm).
Chenille Yarn
This chunky and bold chenille yarn is super soft and fluffy. Made from a single strand, its a great beginner-friendly yarn as it won't split. Commonly used in amigurumi crochet for making plushies, this yarn is also perfect for adding looped texture into your moss creations.
Follow the Looped Stitch video below to learn how to create loops on your latch hook canvas project.
If you'd like to use it for crochet projects, use a large hook (10-12mm) and stuff your creation with polyfill to get a squishy, plush effect. You can also use it in traditional loom weaving to make bolder textured stitches, bubbly sections or a looped fringe. It will fray lightly when cut, so stick to stitches that are 'looped' rather than blunt at the end.
T-Shirt Yarn
T-shirt yarn is an incredibly versatile yarn - made from soft, stretchy strips of jersey fabric, it works up quickly and holds its shape well. If you're working on a mossy creation, it looks beautiful when combined with your favourite latch hooking technique, to add coral-like texture onto your work. The stretch fabric causes each piece to curl in on itself, creating really unique shapes on your work.
Use the Latch Hooking tutorials below to learn more. You can also use the Looped Stitch method above to create loops that differ in texture from your chenille yarn.
You can also use this yarn in crochet and finger knitting, using a larger hook (10-12mm). It works particularly well in beginners crochet because it doesn't split or fray. Use it to create sturdy homewares such as baskets, coasters or placemats. It can also be used in macrame or loom weaving crafting too.
Additional Yarns To Try
We've curated a selection of unique yarns inside this kit, but many common yarns can also be added to your creations! Any standard 'classic' yarn you might find at a craft store (usually twisted with multiple strands) can be used to Latch Hook, particularly if they're of a thin (fingering or sports yarn) to medium weight (DK or aran yarn). If you have chunky yarn of any kind, it will usually work well for Looped Stitch. Any any textured yarn, such as mohair, can be used with a Satin Stitch.
Novelty yarns such as velvet, metallic or sculptural yarn can also be added in. I always recommend trying different techniques with each yarn you find, testing if you want to add single or multiple strands - or even mix different yarns all together!
If you have any sculptural yarn, why not try the Anchoring Stitch below.
Your Tools
Our supplies bundle includes multiple tools to help you on your latch hooking or weaving journey. You'll find the following tools inside:
Premium Wooden Latch Hook - My favourite kind of latch hook! It's thick aluminium neck and hook makes it perfect for smooth stitching. Use it for multiple stitches shown above, including latch hooking with single or multiple strands of yarn.
Plastic Weaving Needles - These needles are ideal for weaving and yarn crafts. Being made of plastic actually works in their favour as they're firm enough for easy stitching, but their flexibility structure means they can squeeze into tight spaces and bend when needed. Using a pliable needle, as opposed to a firm metal needle, allows you to use them in multiple ways, and they're ideal for the Satin Stitch mentioned above. They're also great if you get into a spot of yarn-chicken as you can weave in very small or tight ends.
Butterfly Needle Threaders - These will help you thread any unruly or highly textured yarn into your weaving needle.
Your Materials
This bundle includes the following materials for making latch hook or mossy creations:
Latch Hook Canvas - 1m x 1.5m - Enough to create 1-3 large rugs, or many smaller projects such as coasters, wall hangings, cushion covers or more.
Non-Slip Felt Base - 1m x 1.5m - Enough to cover the back of any projects you may create.
To finish your pieces made from latch hooking canvas, we highly recommend the finishing techniques shown below. They will provide the best chance of longevity, whilst still being beginner-friendly. Scroll below to see our note on more advanced finishing methods.
To create your own cushion covers, my book Craft Club Yarn, includes three different methods designed for absolute beginners to achieve.
If you want to use more experienced methods, classical needlepoint finishing methods will also work really well. Techniques like a Needlepoint Binding Stitch can be used in a similar way as the Edge Binding method above, however using an aran weight yarn will be better suited to latch hooking canvas.
Additional Tutorials & Support
Below you'll find a range of extra resources for completing your own creation!
Designing Your Own Patterns
If you'd like to create your own patterns, you can access our free pattern-making platform Craft Studio. We created the platform to be a helpful design tool - made for crafters, by crafters. We actually brought it to life because we became so frustrated with the existing software out there and we wanted a better alternative for our own design process.
Since starting in 2021, I had been using older softwares to create Craft Club's cross stitch, needlepoint and latch hooking kits - but they were littered with problems. Clunky to use and difficult to edit, they were certainly not intuitive tools. So we made our own! And for the past year we've been using Craft Studio exclusively for designing our kits, so we can guarantee its the best experience out there.
We're very happy to offer this tool for free. You can use it to create latch hooking or weaving patterns using the materials in this supplies bundle. But not only that - it also supports needlepoint crafts of all kinds, long stitch, quilting and more!
New to Design? Craft Studio includes conversion tools that will take images and convert them into patterns. It has intuitive editing functions to update colours and size. And it also includes a library of community patterns - so if you're feeling generous, why not share your own! You might find someone else in the Craft Club community makes your design too.
Draw Your Design
If you're creating a more abstract or creative shape, drawing your design works really well! Drawn shapes are perfect particularly for the weaving stitches shown above, as they focus on 'filling space' rather than needing to cover every individual stitch space on your canvas.
Use a marker - my favourite are Sharpies - to draw your design directly onto your canvas. You can also print out a design and trace it to get a more accurate design.
My Book!
It would be silly of me not to mention the book that I have written, specifically about the unique stitches in our latch hooking and moss kits. There are very few latch hooking books out there, and none with these types of weaving stitches - so I was very proud to bring this to life and publish it with Hardie Grant earlier this year.
If you're looking for a range of easy projects that you can make with the materials inside your supplies bundle, why not check out the book:

Each project in the book includes either a full pattern, transfer template or detailed instructions on how to make the 'pattern-free' project. They're all designed to be flexible, allowing your creativity to thrive. If you're ready to give your textured crafting a step up, why not check out the book!
Decorative Techniques
Below you'll find a range of extra techniques for decorating your mossy creation. Pom poms can also be added onto latch hooking projects to add contrasting shaggy texture.
