Our Taster Pouches use a simple needlepoint technique called a 'half stitch' to fill in the spaces on your design. We use chunky yarn and a weaving needle so you can work up your pouch in lightening speed!

🪡 Time To Learn The Technique
There’s just one simple technique you need to learn - the Half Stitch! 🪡
Pull your yarn up through point 1, then bring it diagonally across your canvas and push it down through point 2.
You've just created a half stitch! Repeat these single stitches to fill up your canvas.
TIP: As long as your finished stitch looks like a diagonal line '/' then you can stitch from either direction. If you're stitching vertical lines, you can bring your yarn up at point 2 and bring it down at point 1, making the same half stitch.
🧰 Tips & Tricks
🌈 If you're unsure of which color to stitch, you can check your paper pattern! Printing may have small variations to the pattern because of the intricate canvas size. If you're still unsure of the next colour, trust your gut - you can't go wrong! And any differences won't be noticeable after its finished.
⚡ Speedy stitching! Once you learn the basics, make sure to watch our full video tutorial to learn how to speed up those stitches.
✂️ If you're jumping less than 2cm away, it's totally fine to stretch your yarn across the canvas. If it's a bigger gap, it's best to tie it off!
