What is a Handbag Making Kit?
It's everything you need to make your own vegan leather bag at home. The pieces come pre-cut (and pre-punched on our sewn styles), so all that's left is the satisfying part: putting it together by hand, with step-by-step video tutorials to guide you.
Do I need any leatherworking experience?
None at all. Every Handbag Making Kit is designed for total beginners. The pieces are pre-cut, there's one simple technique to learn, and the QR code in your kit takes you to our video tutorials.
Do I need any extra tools?
No, everything you need to finish your bag is in the box. The Tokyo and Sydney kits include a needle and waxed thread for hand-sewing, the Lima kit includes screws and a screwdriver for its hardware, and every kit comes with bulldog clips to hold pieces in place while you work.
Is it real leather?
No. Our Handbag Making Kits use PU leather, a vegan alternative to animal leather.
How long does it take to make?
About an hour for the Lima Basket Weave Bag, and around three hours for the Tokyo Shoulder Bag and the Sydney Slouch Tote. The perfect slow afternoon project.
Can I personalise my bag?
Yes! Our Letters & Numbers Embossing Kit and Leather Crafting Mallet let you stamp your initials, a name or a date into your bag for a finishing touch that's all yours.
