Clothing the Gap's Campaign
Not a Date to Celebrate
January 26th is not a date to celebrate.
We stand with Clothing The Gaps and First Nations communities supporting the 'Not a Date to Celebrate' campaign. January 26th is a day that represents trauma, loss and violence for First Nations people - it's time to move Australia Day to a date that truly represents all Australians.
We're proud to be part of this country and want to celebrate it in a way that's inclusive and respectful to all Australians. We support Clothing The Gap's efforts to change the date to a January public holiday that we can all embrace together. As a business, we're committed to listening and learning how we can create positive change for First Nations people - that's why we support this important cause.
🖤💛❤️
We don’t want to take up more space on January 26th, as it should be a time left for First Nation’s voices, but we do want to support them in a way that feels true to us - through craft! Back in 2021 our founder Nakisah created this cross stitch design to help raise money for the cause. We’ve now made it free to download from our website, in the hopes that this design sparks meaningful conversation about truth-telling and reconciliation in your own household and community.
